  • Thanks so much for the messages so far

I've just spoken with RS, probation officer says there is no hostel for him he can go to, so he will be transferred out of the C cat prison he is in, into a B cat as he is now a remand prisoner..... and that won't be where he was first sent. Once he's been moved and I know for sure where he is, I know he would appreciate cards, letters and emails of support.

It's just so unsettling for him......

      Well done hun!

What are the latest contact details? I only dashed a card off last time, I'd like to write properly now I've a bit of time

Wonder if he'll get compensation for the flat he lost in the process?

      • I won't be emailing him until he's been moved, because if he's moved, say, tomorrow, he wouldn't receive it and they don't forward letters and emails very often to the new prison. He's not exactly sure where he will be sent although has a good idea. Once he's contacted me from his new "address" I'll send you a PM on FB so you can write to him.

Can't think about compensation unless we get NGs at retrial.

I cannot tell you how much this angers me RF so God only knows how you feel!

This man has not been found guilty of any crime. Prior to being wrongly incarcerated, he was not on remand and therefore he was not considered a risk to the public or a flight risk .....I mean, he was (wrongly) convicted and sent home for a few days prior to sentencing, so he's so honest he practically "walked" to jail (or at least went "by appointment")! He should NOT be in prison.

Does RS not have any family member or friend who is prepared to give him a room until this sorry mess is deal with??

          • It does seem, very unfair, to say the least, given the circumstances. Some people who are awaiting trial are remanded into custody, often due to a risk of contacting or intimidating witnesses. This is most certainly not the case here.

The problems relate to the fact that family members have children and of course SS would have to step in given the nature of the allegations. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

I am very frustrated about it of course. I've been on this case since July last year. I've seen all the paperwork and can see what utter tosh the whole thing is.

Nothing I can say of use really other than to wish redscouse my heartfelt wishes he finds somewhere to stay soon. Maybe a family member could arrange a b&b for him ? And also talk to their local mp cos this is scandalous treatment and borders on breach of human rights surely ... Best of luck - another one in my prayers ! Xx

              • it's being tried although a B&B would probably not be acceptable due to the age of some residents.

I am thinking he is on his way to the B cat prison as I didn't get a phone call last night from him.

                • RS rang me just now with some hopeful news, that his trial sol might be able to help with bail accommodation. I immediately contacted his retrial sol, but he had already spoken with her and it turns out she cannot help after all. He will be bitterly disappointed.

Any supportive posts, emails (cards and letters from those who already write to him) would be very much appreciated. Please keep up the support.

It must be awful knowing the convictions are quashed yet he's still in prison with no way of getting out until after retrial, if he gets the right verdict.

                  Thanks all

                  • So sorry to hear this latest news RF

I don't know you Redscouse, but I have been reading your thread and all the efforts being made on your behalf. It's so unfair and immoral what they (the authorities) are doing to you. Even if THEY (the system & all its perverted ways) are pulling you down ... Stay strong (You are a "Scouse" remember so in your DNA to be strong) - take one day at a time and focus on the light at the end of your journey ....

It's a matter of time now until your cleared and free if all this & how great that feeling will be !

I can't wait to send you some of the fabulous bananas !

In the interim your in my prayers (it's a long list these days) but your on it .....
I should add that I'm not a religious person usually , but in my own hours of despair I'm finding comforting.
Stay calm : head up & God bless

                    • Have you spoken to him? How is he?

When you do tell him we cant wait to see him back online and to stay strong. This is just another test in this nightmare but finally its coming to an end

                      • Spoke with him yesterday as he wanted me to know that it is likely he will be moved soon, and didn't want me worrying if I don't hear from him for a few days. Still trying to get a bail address for him.

Years ago he could have gone into a hostel, but again, possibly due to cuts, few will accept somebody who is pre-trial.

Odd though as the prison rang me this morning to check I am a legal advisor. I told them I am not a solicitor but I am working with his defence team, which of course is true. I will need to speak with him about his upcoming retrial so calls need to be private.

Odd they would ring just before he is due to leave though. Possibly they should have rung me weeks ago, but have so many calls to check people out, and what with the Government cuts, it's just held that up.

                        • For those who already write to him, please support him by maybe sending a card. Not exactly "welcome to your new home" but a nice picture with a message - "hope you aren't there too long" or similar?

                          Thanks

                          • Sorry, I forgot to add......

If you email him please remember to change the prison in "recipients" before doing so, as it's most unlikely that they would forward them on to him from his last location.

                              • I copy and paste them into emails via "Email a Prisoner". Not screenshots as can't do that! So just the words and I write in the username of the sender, so he knows who has sent each message.
