Hi terrifiedguy, I'm pretty new to this too so I'm really sorry if my advice isn't at all helpful.
I'm currently working with my OH to get him through this, he's currently been on bail just over a week.
Already we're finding we can put it to the back of our minds because we feel all we can do is wait at the moment so please be assured it won't be difficult forever. We've made sure he has written absolutely every little detail he know about the 'incident'
All I could probably say is try to pick a time of the day to do your worrying and researching solicitors and the rest of the day focus on something else, whether it's playing a game, cooking, seeing friends or family, that should hopefully calm down the amount of stress and hurt you're feeling.
I'm really sorry I can't be more helpful, really hope you're okay.
      Hang in there

        Hi terrifiedguy,
Sorry to hear of your plight. Am I right in thinking you still have your phone? The ever helpful and supportive Chigirl gave me the address of a company in Northumberland (whose name I have helpfully forgotten) who can retrieve lost data- deleted texts, etc. sure if you google forensic retrieval or something similar you'll find someone who offers a similar service.
The one problem you may have is that I was told the longer the messages have been deleted, they can get over- written and the original content distorted by fragments of other deleted messages. The more expensive the phone the higher the chance of retrieval. That said, I have some hearsay that speculates it's also linked to time.
        Try it and good luck.
        Stay strong

if the solicitor thinks a forensic expert can help then they should instruct one asap. They can do that on LA if this case is legally aided.
