He's going to try to speak with inside probation tomorrow. Solicitors will hopefully deal with it but it's the lack of an address that is the problem.
I've just sat here and copied and pasted all the goodwill messages from here and from PAFAA forums and the Facebook groups, to him. I had to send them in 6 emails! Hopefully these will cheer him up a little.
Redscouse, I don't know you personally, but I have been reading all your news on the forum. This is excellent news, for anyone, let alone someone in your position. An innocent man.
My very best wishes are winging there way to you, along with all the positive thoughts I and the rest of this forum can muster. Take heart and hard as it is, stay as strong as you can. Big virtual hug for you. xx
Despite having his convictions overturned RS is STILL in prison and the prison have STILL not heard officially from the CA that the convictions are quashed!
You really could not make this up! Still trying to find a bail address for him. Difficult in the circumstances .......
His new solicitor Paul Legg of Freeman's, London, and appeal/retrial barrister are desperately trying to get it sorted out. I am well impressed with the way they have swung into action on this given they were only referred last Friday an hour after the appeal succeeded.
There is life and RD now has a chance to prove his innocence. He has an experienced solicitor and barrister fighting his corner.
You've come here for help at the right time, before a charge (and it might be that he will be NFAd anyway). If he's charged then you will have the benefit of the experiences of those who have gone before you and come out the other side. RS didn't have that. He does now!
Im sorry i didnt quite understand what is going to happen next. Since is sentence has been appealed why wasnt he released immediately? Is that standard procedure?
And is there no way to get in touch with him?
We successfully appealed the conviction so the sentence no longer stands. This means he is in legal terms - not guilty.
He has been ordered a retrial. So he has to have a bail address, the same as he did before the first trial.
I am in touch with him daily by email (via Email a Prisoner) and almost daily when he rings me, and have been in touch with the new sol and barrister every day since the appeal succeeded.
The difficulty is getting him out on bail to a bail address that probation will approve of.

That would be lovely. He really thought the one you sent before was really touching. Very much appreciated!
I sent him copied and pasted posts from here over the weekend as he was so low. He should be out but due to CA not notifying the prison and therefore nothing happening with probation/bail officers he is really down and caught in no-man's land.
He very much appreciated the kind thoughts from members who had posted. Thanks for those who did and those who did not, please feel free to post something up that shows you care. This is what support groups are about after all

Hi RS
Wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts. So pleased with what is happening for you.
Keep going. I know it must be so hard but you surely have truth on your side and finally it will come through as it did for us. You have wonderful people fighting your corner so keep going. You have come this far. Keep, strong x
Okay RS.....Now I'm not a Liverpool fan myself, but nonetheless the lyrics seem apt so I'll sing it with you (and I bet RF can belt out a tune when she wants to ) ..... Now, I want to hear reports that you were heard breaking into spontaneous song and that it echoed around the whole joint! ......
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk
You'll never walk
You'll never walk alone
Such a great song because it's the truth RS - get the heck out of there soon.
TBG1 yours went in an email all on its own, as each email only allows for a certain amount of characters and lines and "you'll never walk alone" took up most of that allowance! Yayyy!
