One adoption agency, Foster Care Associates in 2003 showed the following:

    ?56 Million Annual Turnover
8 Directors paid themselves ?2.2 Million in fees
The same Director's also paid themselves a staggering average of ?285,000 each in pre tax profits.
This means, that even before you start to examine the tax exemptions, the written off costs etc, ?58 Million was plundered from the system in 2003 by ONE agency.

This ties in with our own views about the way the government has failed to invest, if that money was turned over to be invested in local authorities, for better training and resources, would there have been a need for so many adoptions or fostering?

Fostering was and still in the right area is a noble calling, it is time maybe that both sides of this join together and find out just how much of this is being controlled by greedy businessmen who are only intent in feeding their own fat faces on the backs of misery, we must have it placed in law as well that there is a stringent watch on collusion between agency and department, to stop one feeding the other, monitor for greased palms and backhanders, this site was one of the very first to highlight the conflict of interest in the appontment of Anthony Douglas to head CAFCASS, our views have not changed.

Child Protection is as essential as the police or the fire service, it should be under strict government control and should be invested in accordingly, if one agency took ?58 Million out of the system and that just one agency, just how much money is bleeding into these people's pockets from the raxpayers paypacket?

It is an area we will be examining anyway, because we at Unity Injustice believe that the taxpayer is footing a massive bill in supporting the system as it is, on futile, unevidenced child protection cases, to ?6000 a week placements in childrens homes, the legal aid costs alone are staggering and the controlling factors still resides with the local authority... Maybe if the government stopped the feeding trough and made LA's responsible for their own costs, we would see a huge change in the way things are done.

?58 Million would go a long way in adding resources to any social services department, ?800 Million that is estimated as being wasted each year would revolutionise the whole system. Remember, Mr & Mrs Taxpayer, this comes out of YOUR pocket!

We think this is an outrage and the government must step in NOW for the sakes of the children at least...
