Did I just hear right? The government has dropped it's pledge to drop annonimty for those charged with rape. On bbc news. Yet another u turn. This government is turning into a farce

Not english, but are you saying that the goverment went to election with the promise to announce the names of those who are accused of rape?

No. It has always been that you can be named once arrested - but not convicted.

The government were going to give anonimity until conviction, but now they have dropped the idea.

there's been a few very recently who have been named and they've not been charged.....typical to go back on their promises.....
