You do realise that as the case with amnesty's survey, there are loads of false beliefs about rape, by abolishing juries it might result in more convictions (as the judge is fully conversant with the law) rather than less?

Being fully conversant with the law has nothing to do with guilt or innocence.

The law has nothing to do with guilt or innocence.

If you surf the CPS site you will see that they will charge a person, and proceed to trial, if there is a real chance of conviction, not a real chance of being guilty.

Anybody can be fitted up for a crime they did not commit, either by the police, who are hard pressed to meet conviction targets (AKA "detections") and somebody who has a motive or an axe to grind.
