  • No interview

Hello. Not used to writing online so please bare with me.

My partner of 30 years was contacted at home by the police (4 months ago) saying he had been accused of historic sexual abuse. That was all they said. They then said very soon he would be invited for an interview. We were in utter shock and contacted our solicitor.

But, 4 months on, he still hasn’t been invited for an interview? Driving us mad as we don’t know who has accused him and why? He’s in constant shock and not a well man.

Anyone every heard of such a long time between the initial police visit and an interview? Doesn’t seem fair at all.

    Hope that makes sense

Hello and welcome to DM, although I'm sorry you find yourself here.

I would say that this is a pretty unusual situation, either the police have enough evidence to interview ( and they don't need much ) or they don't.

Whatever the reason, it's certainly not fair. It may be worth asking your solicitor to push for some information.

    Hang on in there.
