  • Partner falsely accused and convicted.

Hey so I've been told by my partner that I could post on here for support, although I have no idea how to or where to start, sorry about me.
So he has an ex with a kid to him, which is fine although I got with my partner in 2016, and she got wind of this, hates us being together, revoked his right to see his kid. Not ok, so he went for access to see her. She said no, he persisted, fine. She agreed to 1 hr a week, fine. Then next thing hes arrested, let out on bail, trial started March 2019 fine. There was no evidence, other than the stories she made up. She had another of his exes get in on the game, and this new ex, has a friend who used to be my partners friend, they all spoke of the charges against my partner. All went to trial, jury found him guilty, because of the stories they had come up with. Everyone believed that partner was innocent but it's up to a jury.
He then went to sentencing, he is now 1 month into a 10 year sentence. I need help with coming to terms with an innocent man is in prison for something he hasn't done?! I'm broken, but nowhere near as broken as him.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is there anyone out there that had been convicted of this horrid thing, and actually been innocent? How do I get him home?! He in himself is not coping inside either.

Sorry for the long story, I do have more info, but I just wanna see if anyone gets back to me, and I can open up more, as there are lots of questions I have!

    Hello Hayley,

I'm really sorry to hear of your partners conviction.

Yes, there are undoubtedly other innocent men in prison that have been convicted on only the word of the complainant(s) very sadly.

We don't get too many people posting here but there are a number of other groups where you can connect with others whose partners are maintaining their innocence.

PAFAA ( see my signature below ) is one of the oldest and most reliable for good advice, PAFAA's sister site PACSO is a good starting point for understanding the appeals process... accused.me.uk the largest group. The facebook groups are the most popular.

There are also a number of other support groups and organisations that help with prison issues etc.

If you are worried about your partner you can contact the chaplain or safer custody at the prison and ask them to keep an eye out.

Hang in there, it will get easier.

Hello Haley. I've moved your post and peter's reply to the appropriate board and given it a thread of its own. That way, people are more likely to find it and offer support and advice. Please know though that this forum is relatively quiet and it may be a few days before someone comes on and spots it. The pages and forums that peter mentions might give you better results for now, but keep popping back. You never know when here is going to get busier.

Thanks frantic, and apologies for not moving this to it’s own thread myself!

Apologies also if it seems I was trying to discourage Hayley from posting or asking questions here, everyone is welcome and we will always try to answer posts.
