    Not sure about this:

If you have plenty of evidence and your case is properly prepared by specialist lawyers then it will have a good chance of succeeding. However it may cost £150,000+ should it go to trial. The bad news is that you have to risk this money up front. The good news is that you will be able to claim back your prosecution costs, even if the person is aquitted.

There would be no point in paying out all that money, if you will be reimbursed anyway, even if your case fails and the person is acquitted......

Thank you for posting that link. I did wonder whether I would be able to sue under defamation and this article appears to confirm I can't. Which law does this fall under just out of interest so I can check for sure? If this is the case, then I will have to keep pressing the Police to make sure they do investigate him but there's no guarantee he will be convicted obviously. I feel angry reading that link because I feel like in some ways, I'm being denied justice to clear my name and yet he can simply make a false allegation and try to ruin my life. Seems so unfair.

The member who posted that information hasn't logged onto the forum since 2013 so may not be able to answer this.

I kept the post in the 'Information' section as he seemed to have some knowledge of the subject (though of course legislation does change!)
