  • Solicitor costs

As I really don't like the duty solicitor who attended my partner's interview, I am getting more and more certain I much rather pay for a service and get quality. My partner has been accused of raping his ex wife over a 10 year period and his sister when she was a child so both allegations would be historic allegations.

Would anybody have any idea how much a privately paid solictor would coat if this case goes to court?

Nobody here can give a general quote as all solicitors and barristers charge different amounts and also it really depends on the amount of work the case requires. Some are much easier than others so therefore less time consuming.

If you ring solicitor Chris Saltrese 01704 535 512 and ask to speak with Margaret, if Chris isn't there, she will give you a rough quote, which would also include the cost of the barrister, usually a QC. I believe that a ball-park figure for Chris and the QC may be around £30K but you have to add VAT to that. You would have to ring to check though.

They also allow for instalments too. He is up north west but works nationally. Several members here have used him and got their NG verdicts.

What he charges may of course be less, or more than other solicitors. I cannot speak for them of course.

I understand it all depend on the case and the complexity of it. I was just wondering if anybody can give some sort of idea. I just want to have a few figures to get myself prepared for the costs ... in case, it will go to court.
