    The police didn't interview one of my witnesses, obviously because this worked in my favour and not theirs or the CPS'.

    Does that mean that I'll be unable to call them to the stand should the case be taken to court?

    Your solicitor can take a statement from your witness and arrange for them to give their evidence at trial if it gets as far as that.

      As CH said, if there is a charge, your solicitor can interview any potential witnesses. Hopefully of course, this will be NFAd.
