  • Guilty Verdict

    Hello

Need some help. My friend has been found guilty and is waiting to be sentenced we are all trying to support him emotionally and practically.

Someone said today that it is possible for the court to force him to sell his house in order to contribute to the cost of the trial, he was on legal aid and has already contributed but now that he has been found guilty will he now have to pay out more money?

His barrister is reviewing to see if there is grounds for an appeal but we don't know what to do to help him?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Im so sorry... I can't offer any help or advice.

How long have they been sentenced to and what was he found guilty of?

Is there a chance of appeal x

      Is he still on bail?

I do hope that counsel finds grounds for appeal. Often missed directions or misdirections can work. Redscouse;s appeal succeeded on the 16th October on two such grounds.

Yes he is still on bail and not due back to court for a while. His barrister was very surprised that he was allowed bail.

Have been told that he can try to appeal on evidence.

Don't want to put too much detail on here for obvious reasons, just dreading the sentencing date as we have been told that it will be custodial
