    Hi

I am new to this forum and have seen some previous threads and can see that many of the members are in or have been in a similar position to my partner. I wonder if anyone can advise me on some good specialist solictors in the manchester area. We have a solicitor at present but they don't seem to be particularly interested or responsive. Thanks

Unless you've been charged there's not a lot a solicitor can do.

Have a look at this sticky - http://www.daftmoo.org.uk/mooforum/s...ist-solicitors. Its handy to find one you could use should you need one.

    Welcome to the forum.

      Legal advice

Many thanks for this. I have come across a couple of those names before.

Yes and I am coming to that conclusion that there isn't much can be done unless charged. We are just as many are just waiting and wondering what is going on.

Unfortunately we needed help with a related matter by a certain date and despite numerous emails and phone calls it took nearly two weeks to get any response by which time it was too late and added extra anxiety and upset to this whole process. I still haven't had a response despite ringing every day. This is why we feel we need to change legal team as if this an example of how they work it doesn't bode well.

There's too much hanging on the outcome of this to have a legal team which doesn't answer your calls - you really need to have a specialist team which will go all out defend you - remember the rest of your life will depend on them if you are charged.......

Your last sentence support your own conclusion.

A solicitor won't be able to help much unless a defendant is charged as he won't know about the disclosure.
You must be patient. In the meantime ,try to find evidence and keep it safely just in case.

          Stay positive.

                    Hi,

I hope you are ok? We have not heard from you and I was wondering if you were alright?

Did you manage to secure a good solicitor?

I really feel for you guys down in England & Wales.

A legal team down there drastically NEED to get some court action going to change the way the system is working at present. Something through the Supreme Court which results in a system similar to the one in Scotland whereby charges arrive quickly and court cases have set times. Unfortunately, from experience on the led up to the serving of the indictment upon myself it appeared that the Crown were hoping the Scottish system would begin to resemble the English one.......

Luckily that wasn't allowed to happen when my appeal brought an end to it.

I feel for you OP. I wish there was something that we could all do to help you along but other than offering words of assurance at present and helping you get the 'moaning about injustice' out (which I am more than moaning about generally being a grave victim of it myself recently) our hands are all pretty tied.

I would do what you are doing though. Use the time to check out legal assistance available and ensure that, should the time come, you have the best available.

It could also be worth constructing a 'case file' of a civilian type with all evidence (if you have any), a written summary of what you believed happened, any insights as to reasons for the allegation, any further dealings with the authorities/complainer, any information you receive from anyone and potentially any newspaper articles or such that seem to relate in circumstance or such to the allegation being table (a legal pro can quickly get the case papers for these and compare).

It is incredibly frustrating and quite sickening but remember that the passage of time in some instances can be a good thing.
                        Wow... A signature option!

Hi sorry haven't been on here for a while. Had a family bereavement on top of all this .
                          What next we ask ourselves.

We have managed to speak with a new solicitor.
                          Much happier with them.

Have to return to the police station in the next few weeks to answer bail and see what happens next.
The waiting and worrying and wondering what is going on is so terrible and soul destroying.

The family are all doing their best to be supportive and keep things upbeat for him. But some days it's so difficult.

we are all trying to remain positive.

                          .

Hi Struggling - very sorry to read about your bereavement.....

The waiting and swings and lack of info are indeed soul destroying and so difficult to bear... Glad you are happier with your new solicitors - that must give you more confidence......keep strong....

                              Hello again

Hello again. I haven't been on here for sometime as we have just been trying to live some sort of a normal life whilst waiting and wondering what is going on.

the person who this is affecting went back to answer bail recently and was rebailed again for another few weeks and told the CPS hadn't given their decision, this was much to the surprise of the solicitor who had been told a few days previous that they were going to charge. just dont know what is going on!!!!! CONFUSED!!!! Is this just old tricks and game playing!! Surely they are so busy they havent time to play games!!
