  • son falsely accused

My son has also been accused of rape. I cant believe this is happening. He has bail conditions, but every time his date comes up to return to the station they change the date usually extending it for another two weeks. This has happened 6 times. I have spoken to his solicitor who tells me that this is normal and that there is nothing we can do because of this kind of offence.. My son cant get on with his life and feels very angry because he feels he has done nothing wrong.
He tells me that he did sleep with this girl, who came on to him even giving him several love bites, she even went into the other bedroom to ask her friend for a condom but when she reported it to the police she had scratches up her legs. I would love to know how this happened as my son has always bitten his nails to the point of not having any. The police could clearly see this when they interviewed him. I really cant understand what her motive is and I would like to know what her punishment will be when they can see that she is a complete lie.

    Hi, welcome to the forum.

I've given you your own thread so that you'll get more replies.

If you read some of the other threads you'll find out that one of the motives is money, along with getting themselves out of trouble with a partner.

Others will be along soon to add their advice and encouragment.
And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

Hello it'snotfair... I'm sorry you find yourself on this site but you'll find that there are many in a similar situation to your son and yourself. Bail can last quite a long time... with my son it was 7 months but it can be shorter or longer. I'm not sure just why they don't tell people straight out, I suppose it's all part of the power trip. All I can say is be patient, keep well and get your son to write everything down as he recalls , especially the things she did or said to him. Other people have got far greater legal knowledge than I, but you have my support.
      All the very best

Re-bailing appears to be the norm in England and Wales. Can go on for a VERY long time... Not entirely sure why but it does seem to go on and on and on...

Is it right? No! Not one person on here would agree with you and I am sure that the general public would also be sickened if they knew the truly shambolic state of 'justice' in Britain.

Your son will be getting torn to pieces just now. His head will be a mangled mess and with repeated bail dates the stress will really be getting to him. I would read up on stress/anxiety/depression and ensure that you keep a very close eye on his mental well being. Any 'signs' that are really bad you must seek help immediately but do not go to the Police as they will most likely only lock him up. Get him into his doctors and have them do a general once over on him and maybe refer him to a councillor for a chat.

Your son eating his nails, strangely, could be a sign of a pre-existing mental illness. I kid you not!

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nail_biting

I bite my nails as do quite a lot of other people BUT it's a disorder! Depending on what other 'indicators' are present would depend on what it all means...

Lack of nails would make scratching quite difficult. I would hope that the Police have photographed the 'injuries'. Your legal team, once you establish one, would most likely need to consult with a specialist who could clarify if the 'scratches' are self inflicted or not and give an opinion on them.

As for what would happen to the girl when she's found to be a liar... You'd need to 'prove' she's a liar and even then she'd most likely escape any form of punishment. Sad but true.

Is your present solicitor a specialist in sexual offences? Do you have faith in them? If you end up with a charge and court case you need to have absolute faith in your legal team and they need to be suitably experienced.
        Wow... A signature option!

Thankyou for your comments. I will just have to be patient and see what the outcome will be. I just find it so annoying that someone can cry rape and not give any thought about the seriousness of what she is doing. The effect she is having not only on my son, but the whole family. There should be a law out against these sort of woman, they should'nt be allowed to get away with it.

Totally agree, not fair! It isnt fair! Perhaps,if it happens to enough people, and enough people complain to their MP`s, something might be done to make the system fairer. Too late for the likes of us, almost as if it is a role reversal, from the sufferagettes fighting for female equality, to us, fighting for the FA`s equality!
