  • Another compensation question

I told my story in another thread but now I want to know is my accuser will receive compensation even though she alleged I raped her 3 years before her complaint to the police and the case was discontinued by the CPS.

If so what sort of sum could she be expecting. I hate the thought that she will be given compensation by the tax payer as it legitimises her complaint in a way. Even though it was a complete and utter lie

Technically she is still able to claim compensation.
The sum depends on a number of factors. Google sex offences shopping list...

      Well now.

An older case. I would believe that it may be too late for you to seek compensation (even though this may not be possible!!!). She may also have run out of time?

Maybe someone older and wiser can advise if there is a time limit and how long this time limit is?????????

I cannot wait until the accusation against me has been dealt with. I'm either going to jail or looking for thousands in compensation. I already have one avenue which is opening itself up beautifully.

As for the amount she may claim, I believe it's up to £11000. Not bad for a few hours of talking. We could debate the fairness of the system here but I doubt it will change anything. If only those wrongly accused were entitled to the same compensation.............

A trial I was involved with last year was stopped a couple of weeks before it was due to be heard. Crown dropped it as the complainant was 'unreliable'. We were told she would probably still get paid out as CICA pay out on 'probability' - not stark evidence that something happened in the first place.

how do they come to the decision that she is unreliable, is it theevident the barrister gives to the cps.
and how the hell do they still get paid compensation it is unbeleivable.

Her mental health records showed she could not differentiate between fact and fantasy.

For instance she claimed that her mother had murdered a baby and hidden it under the floorboards.

And she'll still most likely get £11000 odd in compo.

Better payouts with less hassle than car accidents... Don't need to prove anything, just ruin someones life.

Absolutely spot on - and all this is courtesy of the tax payer. Police officers are tax payers - why don't some of them do a better job?
