Would you advise anyone who could find the money to go private , does it really make a difference or not

The detective did not bag any items she removed from our home , but in her statement she says she did, that is outright lie, I even had to give her a carry bag to put them in.

A couple of forensic groups (LGC for one) have recently been criticised over their work. I've had a quick look and can't see any such information relating to Cellmark - but that is not to say there is no criticism. It might be worth you asking your sols to check them out thoroughly.

This topic has been covered elsewhere on this forum.

If you pick a solicitor who has experience in these matters then paying privately can produce more results much quicker than the publicly funded solicitor having to provide arguments every time they want an extension of funding.

You would get very good service on public funding if you cannot afford to pay, from Nunn Rickard in Exeter. They are my solicitor of choice in the South West. As I say, if you can afford to pay then that tends to speed matters up as various lines of enquiry can be opened immediately rather than waiting for LSC to argue about whether that evidence is necessary or not.

You need to put that in a statement to your solicitor and if there were witnesses to that, ask them to do the same thing.

I have done, and my daughter was here when they took my husbands phone and dressing gown and she has made a statement but she has not been asked to attend court like myself and my mother has.

How old is the daughter and why is defence not considering calling her? Is she classed as vulnerable or emotional?

Sols/barrister could apply to adjourn if her evidence is crucial to the allegation of rape.

If her evidence only relates to the evidence being seized without it being placed in an evidence bag (risking contamination) she could write a statement saying as much and counsel could apply for it to be read to the jury. However Crown would have to agree - which may not occur.

You would need to ask the solicitor these questions as they know more about this case than we do.

Be very cautious with that person Wife Of Falsely Accused.
Those that HAVE had dealings with him tend not to be any better off but distinctly out of pocket.
If you haven't got thousands of pounds to burn, I'd steer clear.

That is just an opinion however; doesn't necessarily represent the views of others or the Daftmoo website.
Do a bit of research, as RF says and you should find enough to reach your answer.
