  • Im still here!!!

    Hi All,

It is more than 10 months since i originally posted here. And well over a year since an allegation was made against me.

Without going into too much detail again...i was originally arrested at the end of June 2010 in relation to an allegation of rape made against me by a family member which was supposed to have occured over 10 years ago when i would have been around 14 years old. I have been interviewed twice and strongly denied the allegations in both as well as questioning the police on dates, and the complainants actions since as well as the overall validity of these claims.

My solicitor said i held myself together well at both interviews despite the claims i have been faced with. It goes withut saying that i have been bailed numerous times since and i have been promised a decison for the last month or so. My next date to return is in 2 weeks when i have been told there will definitely be a decision as a face to face consultation will take place in the interim. The last time i attended the police station one of the OIC's colleagues thought i was CID as i was fully suited having just come from work. The OIC informed him i wasnt but said i was a "good lad"!!!. How is it possible i have been on bail so long.

Alot has happened during the last 10 months or so. I Have a new job, i have met the girl who i love dearly and i just want this all to be over. I havent received any support or counselling or medication during this period. I have just got on with things.

Apparently the reason it has been delayed this time is because the CPS asked for social services records from the OIC. i came from a decent family and i know this is pointless. What is going on and when will it be over!!! Its getting silly now.

Sorry for the rant guys just one of those days.

    Hi Lee and welcome back.
Sorry to hear that this has dragged on for so long. The only positive I can draw from it is that if the CPS felt that the complainant was credible, they would almost certainly have charged you by now.
Waiting is very tough, but it sounds as though you have managed to hold it together - well done.
I sincerely hope you will get the answer you need at your next bail appearance.

Hi Saffron. Thanks for the reply.

Its ridiculous how long these things can drag on for. i would give anything for it to be over. Its suprising where you can find the strength from when needed. I was a mess at the start but knew i had to fight this and not give up.

The above may not relate to you but to the complainant.

You may not but it might be helpful to the defence case if this proceeds....
