  • help please

    hi all
the ex-girlfriend has made a false acusation, i was arrested and bailed without charge.
the duty solicitor didnt seem that interested, and i havent been able to contact him since. have looked at other posts on here all suggest specalist solicitors, searching for this does not seem that fruitfull only poping up a couple of (expensive looking) websites.

help, need advice but dont know where to go

Hi and welcome to the site. You need a better solicitor in the first place, preferably not a duty one. There are specialist sols around. If there are any motives for her doing this then you need to keep any evidence, esp texts or pc contact.
No one can help advise on how long you'll be on bail for, as no one here can predict the future.

      You are not alone

You need to get advice from a good qualified in false accusations lawyer - whilst money is an issue this is your future so I recommend in the strongest possible terms get a bloody good solicitor. If in a major city try Tuckers - they know their onions and if its a police station attendance they can become yr duty solicitor for that vsit only - but I would highly recommend getting this sorted first.

Also write down everything that you can recall from the incident, keep all phones, cards used etc so that you can prove anything you say.

Good luck - I like so many others here are in the same place - my heart goes out to you and a prayer will be said - take care

            thankyou

your support is much apriciated, I seem short on friendly people lately(most my friends are hers too). im sure most of you know about that.

I have looked at the tuckers website and am not too far from one of their branches, am a bit worried about how commercial they look. does anyone have expeince with them. PM me if you like

I have no idea what she has told the police about the night, i know it cant be the truth, or they wouldnt have arrested me. Am i entitled know what she has alleged? what reasons she has given for being where she was, etc? i know she will have had to lie alot.

Tuckers appear to be a good firm and they have done some high profile cases - try them it costs nothing.

As for your other point - all plod told me was that they had a statement from her and then made the accusation - they provided no evidence - no copy of her statement - nothing and I don't think you will get sight of this if/until you get charged during the disclosure process.

Thats why its vital that you document in detail your own account of events as she will have.

Which branch of Tuckers are you close to? The only one I would recommend (due to good results on several occasions) is in Warren Street, London. Tim Brown is the man for the job.
