He is a foul-mouthed bullying TV chef who knows little about what goes on in the world of British Criminal Justice and no idea of prisons at all. The inmates he spoke to must have been 'rewarded' to say what they did about Brixton. It is known to be one of the worst prisons in the UK.

I've never been in prison so can't comment. I know my step brother loves it inside but he is institutionalised he has spent so much time in prison. Having been locked up in hospital I know that just being locked up is awful enough, tv or no tv.

Friday, what category is your bro though? Usually life is easier in D cat or open conditions.

This makes me fume! Yes, there are playstations, tvs and gyms in prison. What most people don't realise is that they are privileges that have to be earned and paid for. From your standard £12.50 a week you have to pay £1.50 in order to have your telly. If you want a PS, you have to save up via your weekly allowance in order to buy one from a catalogue. If you don't behave you are not allowed to use the gym, your telly will be taken and you will lose all your privileges.

Prisoners, particularly those serving long or life sentences have to be given some incentives to keep their noses clean. If these incentives didn't exist, there would be complete anarchy.

And being locked up for 23 out of 24 hours a day is torturous, with or without a telly. Especially when 3 people are crammed into a cell designed for one person. (this is actualy illegal, but the UK government would rather pay the fines associated with this, as it is cheaper than building new prisons.)

Anyone who thinks prison life is cushy should try spending a few weeks inside. They will soon be bleating about it.

RF: I have no idea which prisons/categories he has been in. He has convictions for all sorts ranging from drug related offences to starting a riot (initially he was charged with attempted murder). I know he was in wakefield at one point but I don't think he was there long.
