  • ‘Clare’s Law’ seems like a good idea , but its a bit sexist !

I wonder , if they will allow online male daters to check the background of females ? who knows how many false accusers might be on dating site and worse , females do commit acts of abuse on there partners also .....

    Article :-

Former Home Office Minister Hazel Blears will launch a campaign to change the law today.

Under the proposals, women would be able to ask police if men they have just met have a history of domestic violence.

Ms Blears said: "Women in Clare's situation often are unaware of their partner's previous relationships.

    calls for change

"This can mean they start a relationship with someone with no idea if they have a violent past.

"Until women get the right to know if their partner has a history of domestic abuse they can't be sure of the risk."

Louise Casey, the Government's victims' tsar, backed the change. She said: "It could put women in a position where they have the power to prevent themselves from becoming a victim. Our priority should not be protecting a perpetrator's privacy at the expense of costing a woman's life."

But some MPs fear the new law could infringe men's civil liberties.

She does seem to have ignored that fact that a lot of men are abused by their partners too.
And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

I do believe that there is a need for a register of liars - male and female alike - so that those who have been proven to have made false allegations of DV or sexual abuse can be checked out. It will never happen though.......

This makes me particularly mad, as an ex-colleague of mine was subjected to consistent domestic violence by his girlfriend. There was an article on the news recently saying that reports of DV made by males against female partners had risen dramatically.
It's not only men who abuse female partners, females can abuse males too. About time that was seriously recognised.

It's funny how this has come up at a time when Rebekah Brooks is in the news. Especially considering when she was known as Rebekah Wade - and married to Ross Kemp (EastEnders hardman Grant) she was accused of domestic abuse on HIM!

I've always said that those who keep pointing the finger at others are doing so to keep others from pointing at them.

The NoW were great at exposing corruption but failed to expose it on their own doorstep. I've often wondered how many of those who worked on their "name and shaming" campaigns were actually paedophiles or sex offenders themselves.......
