Hello,
Your 6ft 6in admin bod here here to bring some order!
Sorry for the silence. My laptop decided to crash and my other computers are packed away given I'm currently refurbishing my study (Nearly done - I put the new skirting board on yesterday).
Anyway, the thing flashing up is irrelevant really - this just shows you that it's saving your text. When you first click on "reply to thread", there should be a button appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. Press that, and your past saved musings will come back.
EDIT: Bottom left corner of the post edit box, not the screen. Sorry!
As for the computers, my laptop is now working again and I'll hopefully get my others out again soon when the study is finished.
My (linux based) server is still running, but my (win xp) main computer, plus the spare I'm turning into a media centre is currently packed away.

If your motherboard packs in you can still remove the hard drive and plug it into another machine......
I've got me a high powered 3D graphics card thingy, super ram, decent processor (next area of change me thinks though!) and some funky blue fan things and everything still works. Running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit...
Did think about Linux but I'm not that hardcore...
Only managed to get a new phone on Friday after having my antique for about 6 years! Blackberry thing that I plug in to the computer and then sync things and change things and download things and delete things and stuff!
I'm well impressed me. Just hope nothing breaks as I'll need to spend another year reading how to fix it all........................................
PS: It took me quite a while to do all these things! A LOT of reading and some practice... It wasn't too easy so I am NOT stealing any of your thunder RF, just having a little tease and giggle.

No thunder missing from my part of the world! I've never messed with graphics cards or built a computer from scratch (but I would have a bash if I had to) so I doff my hat to you, Sir!
