  • Flowers by the Roadside (o/t)

I know this is a bit off topic, but i like it and since no one else is posting, here goes:

    By Lisa Wright:

    Tributes ties to fences,
    Passing people quietly pray,
Flowers by the roadside now that you have gone away.

Tear stained notes on little cards,
    Messages of sadness,
flowers by the roadside to mark the spot of madness.

When the buds start to fade,
    the memories still live on,
though the flowers by the roadside have wilted and have gone.

Laid by families and by friends,
    strangers laid them too,
flowers by the roadside to say how they'll miss you.

      Just reading
reminds me of a day long long time ago,
      screeming rubber in my dreams,
i wake with the sound of screeming rubber ,see the death and distrution
,not on paper or tv but for real, dead and dyeing all around,
a family of four ,three dead one alive,"she should be dead said the fireman"how calouse i thought
never thinking , when she comes round to find her family all gone
with the screem of rubber in my dreams,
i hold those two children in my arms, no face thank god only there bodys,
heads are gone its a blessing,
i see the farther i see his beard i see his face,
thank god i did not see the kids ,the face in my dream
and the screeming rubberbrings me back to life
      screeming rubber in my dreams

Sorry I've only just replied, I hadn't noticed your post.
Just to clarify to Maria. I'm not Lisa. I saw her poem on another forum and asked her if I could use it because I liked it. I haven't seen her on that forum since so I can't contact her to ask if she has any more.
        It's a nice poem though.
Mol, thanks for your poem too. Did you write it? It's interesting.
