  • hello - new to site

This is my first posting. My OH has been charged after months of rebailing on the back of astounding and false- very historic- allegations. We have been to hell but are not on our way back yet. Like so many we have little hope, especially in this current climate, but are not going to roll over yet. I am pleased to have found this site, as we are in the middle of such a lonely, confusing and devastating experience.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry you've found yourself in this position but I hope we can help support you through it

Hi and welcome to the forum but really sorry you had to find us. This experience is one of the worst things anyone can be put through, and everyone on here is either going through or has been through it -so we have a lot of advice and support to give you - keep posting and asking questions and we'll help all we can.
In the meantime - have you instructed a solicitor who SPECIALISES in cases of sexual abuse - especially historic ones - it is pretty much everyone's advice on here to find a specialist solicitor as these cases seem to be so hard to defend - especially the historic ones (as mine also is!!!!)
      Keep strong

You have my utmost sympathy - and you are not alone. I never realised how many FAs are made or the shock, pain and devastation it causes.
You do need good legal advice and tons of resilience

          Thank you

Thanks for messages of support- we are just sorting out solicitor situation- it is all very stressful (not to mention expensive. And I try not to think about the tax we've paid being used to fund this circus). You need to know so much about this kind thing to even understand how to choose a solictor. And at the beginning when you have had all your computers taken you are completely helpless for a while.
I have read some other people's posts and just want to say that for for my OH going to the doctor was one of the best things he did early on. The doctor just knows there is a terrible situation going on and prescribed anti-depressants. These have helped reduce the catastrophic lows which are hard for everyone. Also it is important to get some sleep which these particular tablets helped with too- it's impossible to function properly without sleep even for a short period- also impossible to comprehend the marathon that this whole thing is, so sleep is even more important.
I have some very strong feelings but at the moment am too polite to write them down! Asterisks just don't cut it somehow. ***!****!! No, thought not.

Hello TheOH - welcome to the site. Have you looked under the thread 'solicitors'? If there's not one named in your area you can post a request in case anyone has had experience of someone competent in this domain. It is SO important to get a sol who is experieced in these allegations, and will help to reduce your own stress knowing that your case is in good hands.

It's (or should be!) a lovely time of year, so enjoy the outdoors and any fullfilling distractions - excercise, hobbies etc which will help you take your mind off things.
            All the best,

            WGO
