  • Hi

Hi, I'm new here and wanted to say hello...

I am completely freaking out, having major flashbacks and just not coping very well. I was raped 30 years ago for quite a long time and I've just heard he's coming back..... I just can't stop crying.

Hi Survivor - have you got anyone in RL that you can confide in? Please go and see your doctor and they should be able to help you get some counselling. Also try Rape Crisis, they are most helpful.

You say he's coming back - do you mean to the area you now live?

Hi and welcome Have you ever received any support with regards to the rape (such as counselling)? It is never too late if you haven't and feel that might be something you'd like to try. Here are some links to support organisations: http://www.daftmoo.org.uk/mooforum/s...ally-assaulted or as RFLH suggested you could approach your GP. You could also try some self help such as this free CBT based workbook http://www.moodjuice.scot.nhs.uk/posttrauma.asp

Really I just want to echo what RFLH has said about speaking to people, be that friends/family, professionals or online. It is so hard but it really does help.

Hi and welcome - sorry you had to find us. You will get some great advice and support on here - and you've been given some already. I'd echo this and advise you contact your GP as soon as you can and asked to be referred to a specialist counselling team. My county has one called C (name of county) rape and sexual abuse centre - my counsellor is absolutely brilliant....either way, your GP or even CAB will know what organisations are in your area and how you can be referred to them - you may even be able to self-refer - all the best MH
