Hi Bob
The dreaded bail monster - I remember it well!
Yes, let your solicitor know that you are returning for bail, but he only needs to come if you're being reinterviewed.
As always do not answer anything without the solicitor- even if they make it sound completely informal!!
If you are to be rebailed then he doesn't need to attend.
You may hear from the police before then saying you'll get a rebailed date in the post and that you don't have to attend, or they may say NFA.
Keep positive.
This is just a formality at this stage.
There is also the possibility of being charged.
Your solicitor does not need to be there for this but if you can get them to come then they will help you through the procedure.
Try not to panic as there's a long way to go if that happens and it's by no means the end.
Anyway, everything is crossed here that you get the right outcome.
Sending positive vibes through cyber space!
YoH

My bail return date is tomorrow. Do I need to make arrangements to be represented at the station or will it be a formality?
To say I'm nervous is an understatement. What usually happens, and what could I potentially expect?
Many thanks
Bob

Peter1975 is right, and additionally, unless and until you are charges, you don't know for certain what is relevant evidence and what is not. You need to see her statement for that and that isn't disclosed until after you have been charged.

As you haven't been charged there is literally no point in them talking to you or looking at your evidence and they won't get paid for their time if they do. I know the waiting can drive you mad but try to keep busy and get on with your life in the meantime.Originally posted by Youngscared View PostYeah I know they won't know till closer BOB but I just wanted brief chat with one and one to present my gathered evidence to really as mine is being more than distant and doesn't seem to have any interest in speaking to me

Hopefully soon Bob but I'm afraid it may take numerous rebails before any decision is made.

That's fair enough
When I saw the email notification pop up today that you replied to the thread I was thinking you got an nfa! Hopefully soon!

My duty solicitor said they will only find information out closer to the bail date... in the mean time if anything changes they will be in touch. If charges happen then it gets more serious intent but neither of us have been charged. Just thought I'd add that in if you're panicking!
I've even rang in the police station a few times and the officer in charge always seems to be "out" and can't update me on the case

No update yet, I was told i would likely receive NFA roughly after 6 weeks by my solicitor and even had a slight hint from the OIC after interview they do not look/like to take these any further. Still waiting on the brown envelope! 3 weeks till bailOriginally posted by Bob1234 View PostYes I feel the same way young and scared. About it it does go to court... however I don't want it to because
1) I haven't done anything wrong to warrant going to court
2) the whole process is a long one from what I have read on these forums and it would be hell
3) if charged it will all be more public. I have thoughts / nightmares about what people would be thinking/ social media branding etc. You start to think silly stuff like remember the people u went school with. Your teachers and how they would react to news like this.
4) going to court it's always is in someone else's hands in that sense.
I keep thinking what if the police deliberately leave out some evidence that will show I am
Innocent just to get there stats high.
The worst thing is even when the bail date arrives it could be extended :/
Please let me know how things progress with you, as I Belleve our cases are quite similar ....

I have the same feeling bro, bail is in 4 weeks I'm absolutely dreading it. I'm completely innocent of this charge yet I feel if I hadn't of gone out that night things would be normal, I never imagined in my worst nightmare I could ever be in this position. I'm a well known popular lad in my hometown and it's common for the police to put people's name in the paper once charged.Originally posted by Bob1234 View PostCurrently 5am. Last few days I've been finding this really difficult. Trying to resume normal life with the bail over me and a potential charge. I just wish that night didn't happen as it will be with me the rest of my life now
I should be alright if this went to court as I feel I have a very strong side of evidence but it's just having to be known for being accused of rape. I never thought that one night out could change my whole life and future but I hate to say it, it has.
Im on probation for a fight I had two years ago I'm nearly at the end of it, I had to see my probation officer yesterday for the first time since the accusation, I told her and broke down in front of her.
