  • forever since accused

    hi there,

I have had this dark cloud hanging over my head forever hence the name.
The initial accusation happened last year in July and my bail has been extended over and over again.
And now the 2nd interview date is coming up again in two weeks and I haven't heard a thing.
I've been bugging my lawyer if we can't get things done quicker or push for information but he keeps saying the ball is in the justice systems half.
Initially my lawyer collected information about the so called victim and sent a letter to the police and according to my lawyer this is apparently the reason it takes longer as they have to investigate our information. more than 6 months?
Apparently a toxicological report of the girl has only been done in January and the whole thing hasn't landed on the crown prosecution service desk yet...

This whole thing is extremely nerve-wrecking and affecting my daily life a lot especially since I have to run a company and with weekly signing dates etc complicates my life immensely.

What I wanted to add is that since October I'm allowed to travel been on business and family trips like twice per month I always think that's a good sign but don't really know.

What do you guys out there think about my case?

    Very much appreciate any contribution.

    thanks
    forever

    Hi forever,

I'm not an expert and cant offer much more than empathy.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you, due for reinterview tomorrow, just found out i'm to be rebailed til i dont when.

I will be eagerly watching your progress and wish you the best.

Do you not find you can return at least 50% to normal life between bail dates, then near bail dates the mind goes back to the case 100%?

Does anyone know if rebailing bodes well?

Bugging the solicitor isn't really going to help. He or she is not paid now so anything they do would be free. There won't be any paperwork (disclosure) at the point so he really isn't going to be able to help at the moment.

The police do not always investigate both sides of the case.

Hi what exactly do you mean with he isn't getting paid? He always arranges for me to be allowed to travel, so the bail officer signs it off for me and he wrote the letter to the police etc.

Unless you are paying him privately there is no legal aid at this point, only during interview. If he's doing extras then he's doing you a favour, so best not to bug him too much in case you piss him off

hehehe I don't think I am eligible for legal aid. Piss him off?

He pisses me off because he doesn't get this moving. Well I guess this is because in Germany these things are handled a little differently, I guess not his fault.

Just annoying I can't get this over, planning a big trip in Oct and would like to start booking etc but with this case still pending I don't want to risk anything...

So you are paying privately then?

There is still only so much he can do given that there is no disclosure from the police at this stage so not a lot of information to act on.
