Just spoke to the DC and he was wondering what happened to me as i left him alone for a week as i am on his case too much really but that is just because i am so worried, he said its gone through one of the chief inspectors now its going through the other one and he said he will call me later this afternoon or tomorrow with a update, hoping its good news

The CPS will make their decision as whether to charge or not based on the likelihood of getting the conviction and of course they may well take the view that these women for various reasons (and not necessarily due to their learning disabilities) are not reliable witnesses.

because these women have disabilities which is learning, and there is two of them (best friends) is it quite likely that my dad will go down for it even though he hasnt done a thing, as i wonder because they have disabilities they will more be taken on their word even though made up

The cases are not similar; SO's thread is rather long and complicated to read through in it's entirety but basically the lad who was actually accused of raping the girl (SO's 'friend') changed his statement from originally denying being at the scene at all to saying that he was there but didn't continue with intercourse when he realised she was underage.

We haven't heard what the verdict was for this lad but I fear SO (who told us he only drove the car) was tainted in the jury's collective mind by association.

In your dad's case in your OP you said "my dad and mum would make them a cuppa as they are too friendly" so I'm guessing that they must have said that they also came round when he was on his own? I realise they have not given specific dates but this will tell against them if your mum was mostly there when they called.

Should it go any further your mum will be a vital witness in his defence.
yes they said my mum left them there and went to work, but she said she has never left them in the flat alone with them as she been a carer for a long long time and she knows not too with learning disabilities, ive had contact with the DC through this so far, but havent for a week as have had to stop myself chasing him up, as want it done equally as worry they side with people with disabilities, so scared for my dad as he is a thin little man and heartbreaking that people can do this to others, i really feel like its revenge for stopping them come in

    Hi,
I'm really sorry that they have put you and your father through this awful situation. It might be best using the time till his re-bail to do a bit of digging. Is there anyone who could have put them up to it such as a family member or support worker? what was their reputation in the local neighbourhood? It might be work speaking to some of the local neighbours as you might uncover some stories about them. As they truly sound a dodgy pair.

He may well be eligible for legal aid if it comes to charge. I know the perfect barrister if he should be charged. He will know the right solicitors to instruct.

When he starts talking about doing away with himself maybe you could say that the media would say that 'he couldn't live with the guilt' and he needs to be here to clear his name.

One step at a time though. Hold on in there hon.

Which part of the UK are your parents in? Just in case I can recommend a solicitor in the area should one become necessary.

From what you say, revenge does seem to be a motivation here... I am assuming he was interviewed under caution? If so he now needs to find a solicitor who specialises in False allegations of sexual assault. In the meantime, ask him to write down everything he can remember about any contact he has had with these 2 people - especially if the police told him times and places. If he is on FB have a look at their FB pages to see what they are posting and screenshot anything and everything that could help and save it somewhere electronically. Make sure he doesn't say anything to the police without a solicitor present and to only answer questions they ask and not volunteer any other info even if he thinks it'll help him. The police have conviction targets to meet and can use underhand tactics to get these....
Keep strong, keep posting and others will be along shortly to offer more advice...
its awful a 60 year old going through this, he did think about killing himself He was interviewed under caution and he refused the solicitor as said "im innocent so i dont need one" police havent told dates or times, they just say it happened :/ they cant say a date it apparantely happened to them, they took his phone to check for contact between them, my dad lost his flat due to this and looks like his job too, he hasnt done nothing at all, apart from being too soft and allowing them in for a cup of tea I have arranged a solicitor for when he has to go back, i am worried what will happen when he meets the bail date, was annoyed as it was meant to be last week but the DC text me to say its now a week later, i was annoyed he text :/ worried about my dad as he has always had a hard life, and just concerned this is going to tip him over the edge ( he is trying to think positive by saying he hasnt done nothing so why worry, but i know he is terrified really i think because its in the media so much now that its seems the thing to do to people! its disgusting, because they got learning disabilities i am worried he will be charged and locked up for it as his word against theirs
