But we did have some very good experience with gerry mcdonald so if he makes it that far at least hes got a good solicitor.
Its really a tough job to keep somebody you love from committing suicide
I really feel for you. We went through a period of never leaving him alone and panicking if he was in the shed or garage and I've even felt that way myself but it's not worth letting them win in that way.
I wish you strength beyond measure o get through this xx

    Hi there thiisinsane

I spent a long time trying to figure this one out... In the end I found a barrister chambers that specialises in this matter.. I called them and asked which solicitor they recommended...

At the end of the day... In my opinion, the barrister is key.... I searched on legal 500 on recommendations etc... There recent cases... Etc..

    Hope that helps

Hi - this is sounding really positive really pleased your new sol is so efficient - really highlights the importance of having a more than competent legal team that you can trust and can work WITH you...pity the judge didn't throw it out then - but gives you some confidence when you have to next go to court......

PS - please could you post the name of your legal team/solicitors in the Special Solicitors thread so that others in your area can contact them.....thanks

Hi HKM20 - well done for your positive attitude despite what you and your partner are going through. Doesn't having decent representation make the world of difference and make you realise that the fight is on and possible? For some it's just a job, for others a vocation - go for the latter every time.

Good luck in your fight and a very happy new year to you both

    Hi HKM20

I am really pleased to hear your new solicitor is working for you. On my Preliminary the judge also gave the CPS prosecutor a telling off for their lack of communication and preparation. It does in still me with some confidence that the judges are impartial and ensure a fair process is happening.

I am really sorry about your home.. its terrible.. with everything your going through.. I really sympathise..

Out of curiosity had your partner been with his employer for more then 2 years? I have recently spoken with ACAS and an employment solicitor who highlighted employers would generally suspend with or without (Contract specific per person) fully pay during criminal proceedings. If he has been unfairly terminated you can initiate tribunal proceedings.

Im not sure what a pre-trial is, but I hope it all goes well for you!

    Sending positive vibes!

If your solicitor is hopeless then I would strongly advise you to change. We had to and were very happy that we did. I believe that there is such an organisation as you mention which is to be avoided like the plague as they act as an agency and take lots of money-for-old-rope off you.

Take a look at the thread 'specialised solicitors' in the general information section - tried and tested solicitors have been recommended there. If you don't find one in your area then put in a 'request'.

Really sorry to hear of the newspaper reports and break-ins

    Good luck

We are in the same boat!

Hello, this is my first post. Just been reading about and so much is sounds the same thats happened here.
My partner has been accused and convicted of CSA from before 10 years ago he was only 9 to 17 at the time by a couple of family members who were younger. He is being sentenced next week. The trail was a joke (thats another story) the evidence was all over the place and our solicitors was not pulling their weight. (we are on legal aid) Its been a living hell. He lost his job, his kids, his partner then etc..

We don't know what to do at this stage! We looked at falsely accused .co.uk and they haven't got back to us I have even phoned them this afternoon. So I'm just writing this so back-up what has been put on this thread already.

Best of luck, its hard too but keep positive.

It worries me that the same could happen to me!

I hope you are safe where you are now.

I Did try calling that sight and email them, but I never heard back from them..

So sorry for you - as if it couldn't get any worse.

Everything seems to go against the accused. These alligators will get their 'come uppence' one day.

We have to pay for our own defence and pay for the accusers legal bill as well via our taxes.

How can any of this be right???

    Hell!

Has anyone ever had their house attacked? Mine has twice since it was in the paper, actually the day it was put in the paper! Anyone else had that?

    HKM.

I am confident you won't see the accuser in court.

There will obviously be your partner's barrister who will give him the next bail date which could be the plea hearing.

Try to get some rest and focus on the final disclosure.
