  • R v X: extradicted from outside of the UK and now found NG

He was acquitted last week of one charge and jury hung on the other. CPS informed us within the last hour that will not request re-trial, so not guilty verdict will be entered tomorrow.

Huge massive thanks to Freeman's solicitors harveyfox, Deborah Hogg solicitor and Michael Field barrister.

Interesting case. Can I ask what is the process the Police go through for extradition? Me and my father were both falsely accused three years ago. My Dad lived abroad at the time and I was told later by the police they were considering extradition procedures. Does this imply the Police / CPS thought there was some truth in the allegations or do they automatically consider extradition for all cases in respect of people accused of crimes who live abroad? I know the case went to the CPS on three separate occasions before it was finally dropped.
