  • Survey for those acquitted + Sticky request for a Mod

One of the things that I think we would all be interested in knowing is the actual prevalence of false accusations for which we have no real data. However it does seem to me that if we could together build some statistics that would aid our case to change things going forward.

One guide we do have access to that would perhaps be useful to publish is the amount of time it takes for Jurys to acquit.

Following the acquittal today of Aidy on here who was acquitted in 10 minutes it seems to me it would be good a good idea to keep these statistics in one place (perhaps a sticky spreadsheet).

If those who have been acquitted could reply to this thread simply saying the length of time the jury took to acquit, we might be able to build evidence that the CPS are prepared to take extremely weak cases to court and that the Police to not gather evidence "in the round".

Whilst all cases are different I think it is reasonable to assume that where Jurys reach not guilty verdicts in a very very quick time that the system has gotten something wrong because there was no reasonable prospect of a conviction.

Great idea! Just a thought though....would it be easier to create a poll with time-bands for folks to select?

I was only saying something along similar lines today!
        Something needs to change...
The CPS are not in control of this kind of situation!

great idea. If there is one thing we are missing it is any kind of statistics to make a difference but I will say that every Ng and NFa really does make a difference here and those that make the effort to let us all know the outcome of their situation have our love and respect.

I will point out that an immeasurable number of those falsely accused don't make it to the groups, but I was found NG within the hour.

I read somewhere the other day, the author said, perhaps with a straight face, that there are as many as 750,000 peadophiles in the uk. Thats' right, 1 in 5 of us men are supposedly a potential child abuser.... an antidote to emotional nonsense and inflated scare mongering statistics is desperately required. Where do I sign?

One in five, eh? I'd like to see then apply that logic to their own families. Any man who has a son, a father, a grandfather and an uncle can be said to have a paedophile in the family. That's in addition to the man/men in the family who abuse grown women.

I'm sure these people make up statistics as they go along and it all needs to be refuted. It's astonishing to claim that 20% of men are sexual predators without hard evidence and nothing short of scaremongering. I suspect they couldnt define 'paedophile' correctly if asked.

It's a cynical victim industry tail wagging the dog of a victim led culture FWW. The NSPCC are a leading special interest group in the paedophile scare, Childline almost going out of business before they discovered that the paedo scare gathers headlines and publicity and therefore, donations. Something like only 4% of their calls are about CSA, the vast majority are about bullying but there is not so much interest or emotional blackmail to gain in that.

Similarly, rape crisis groups distort the truth for their own financial survival, although they are likely to receive a windfall once the istanbul treaty is ratified. False allegations are an inconvenient truth that these special interest groups need to avoid because if they were forced to admit that sending innocent people to court or prison is a price they think worth paying, they would lose all sympathy for their dishonest cause.
