  • Solicitor advises guilty plea

I have been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15yr old student I teach. I have been on bail for 4 months but have been told I face 2 charges of penetrative sex. I cannot for the life of me think why these allegations have been made but I have lost my job, my house and am now staying with friends. Luckily my partner and daughter have stood by me but this is destroying my life.

My solicitor has said that although there is no evidence, despite forensic examinations of the towel it was alleged to have happened on, it will come down to who the jury believe on the day. I feel so helpless, everything I have worked for has gone!

I don't know what I asking for or why I am posting this, I guess I need to hear from people with real experience!

    Hi Panic
So sorry to see you here but welcome anyway.
It's not so uncommon unfortunately, and many have been or are going through it.
We can support each other here.
I know how devastating it is and can fully empathise with your situation.
Things will never be the same again.
I don't know how far along your case is but it sounds like you've already been charged.
Take a look at the link below.

    http://www.daftmoo.org.uk/mooforum/s...at-happens-now

Also, there can't be enough emphasis put on getting the best representation.
In the meantime try not to panic.
You'll need to be stronger than you've ever been but you'll get through it.
    Hang in there!

I've been told I will be charged in 10 days when my bail is up. It's been going on since August and so much has changed already. Still can't believe they're going to charge with nothing but her statement.

I've been told to use the union's solicitor, Thompsons. Don't suppose anyone has any experience of them?

Very sorry to read about your hideous ongoing ordeal........

Many on this forum are going through similar ordeals......

Justice will hopefully prevail.....and hopefully you will be proved innocent......

you are very fortunate to have a great support network in your partner and Daughter....... And this will hopefully provide you with the backbone of your support....

It's very sad to read that you are going to be charged in ten days..... However.....

        Do not GIVE UP.......

        YOU are INNOCENT.........

        Have FAITH........

Stay CALM........ Focus on your version of events....(if any)........

Yes you will feel.....all the negative emotions known to man...this is normal....after all we are normal people who are victims of being falsely accused.........but YOU are STRONGER THAN YOU think.......

You will Prevail........where others have failed.........you WILL WIN....

Your back is against the wall.......

        But you will conquer......

And you Will come through this dark.....hostile...bleak.......path..........to a small RAY of light...........you will......just have faith in yourself.........

        Stand TALL........

        BE BRAVE.......

        never Lose your focus.....

Keep YOUR CHIN UP........after all.....you are INNOCENT!!!

In regards to your solicitor question I have no knowledge on this front....

I sincerely wish you all the best.......pal

No personal experience of them unfortunately, but the emphasis is on one with relevant experience.
I would assume that if these solicitors are dealing with your profession they are likely to have dealt with this issue before. But take the time to check and double check that. You must have one you are confident in.
Don't panic about being charged as the issue is a sensitive one in the current climate and so the authorities are obliged to take these matters serious. It's not the end, but the beginning!
Just be prepared for the fight of your life!
You will only get one shot at your defence so it has to be the best you can find.
          Good luck and keep posting.
          We're here for you.

          A12 - lovely encouraging post!!

I was advised to use them too- but didn't as i didn't feel they were specialised enough.
Very efficient on work- related issues and compensation but not sure about criminal cases.

Ask them what experience they have in similar cases
They tried to bury us- they didn't know we were seeds

              Solicitor

Hi, imperative that you use a solicitor and barrister experienced in this field. Depends if you will be using a legal aid or private. Can highly recommend Chris Saltrese solicitors from personal experience. Very level headed and tells it as it is and has dealt with many false accusations. But as stated by others you must find someone you feel comfortable with and who will give you the best possible defence. Wishing you well stay strong and you can get through this

Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice so far. Is it usual for me to not have had a proper conversation with my solicitor at this stage? He has sent duty solicitors to represent me in my meetings with the police. I know there is little he could have done so far but don't know what I should be expecting. My union have said they will withdraw their support for me if I don't use their preferred solicitors, but I suppose that doesn't really matter now I have been charged.

Get a recommended lawyer from the list on this forum.

If you're in London or Essex, get Rizvan Anwar www.arcadianlaw.com Couldn't recommend this guy enough, he used to work at EBR attridge with Gerry McDonald, but has his own place now. Has gotten some great results for ppl on this forum.

If you're up in the midlands go for Chris, he is very helpful and popular too.

                  Good luck buddy.

Chris Saltrese works nationally - based in Southport. With the quote comes the QC or senior barrister. his charges are much less than many solicitors. Check out my tagline for his details.

If you would be legally aided, roughly in which area would the trial be held? Usually it's where the alleged offences are supposed to have taken place.

I would assume that the trial will be held in the SW. Thanks again everybody, for your words of advice and support. Very grateful to you all
