Thank you hello 88 along with all the others who have very kindly taken the time to reply, I have since found out that a 35 year old man was actually having a full on conversation with her in a sexual way,( of which My OH never did) this has been given to the police as apparently there is evidence of the conversation. They had my partners phone and there was nothing. Which I knew anyway.

I feel that your right Hello 88, as the same day she made the allegation she posted on all social media and told people the following statement " ha ha you thought stupid me I would forget" it is defiantly a vendetta as away at getting back at us. The more I am putting the picture or puzzle together thanks to all of you, I am beginning to think they wanted to get at me and what better way then making an allegation against my OH or her mum has found hard evidence of something she has been up to and they are using us as scapegoats. She got expelled from school, she came to me, she ran away from home, came to me, bunked off school the parents came to me thinking she was here when she wasn't, I do know a lot of facts about the family as she shared everything with me, but when she told me that her stepdad had touched her I politely reminded her of his background and she went mental at me, that was the last time she came and even her real father said he wouldn't be surprised if something was going on between her and her stepdad. My head is spinning I am emotionally drained xx

Also look ALL the way through her social media, if there is any proof that she was happy to go round yours (always good if you find a relevant date after the accusation ) then yet again screenshot. xxx

Think. How would the "other side" use this? Answer: "did you think I would forget you raped me?"

Hi Charliegirl- what a dreadful story but most seem to have common themes- no evidence, troubled individuals, revenge, envy........

                Why do they do it?
Because they can, they are encouraged by political attitudes. They get away with it.
                It's easy money.

Just to back what others are saying- write timelines, anything you can think of that may help. But DON'T tell the cops anything useful

                    Hi
Sorry you have had to find your way here ..... But it is a godsend that this forum exists

You'll get lots of good advice on all aspects eg make a timeline. Document everything : including her Facebook comments and any pictures she has posted that show her true nature.... And keep them

When you reach court stage (hopefully you won't). Your barrister and solicitor will review all info you have gathered plus the evidence the cps have and determine the best strategy to reveal the truth in court. Until then there are a few threads on the forum posted by others about the court experience , the best one I saw I thin was from some called " a bad dream" ....

Best of luck in the interim & stay strong
                    X

You need a really really good solicitor and Barrister and I did read that sometimes barristers can make deals with the prosecution

Do what you can but dont tell the pigs anything also be aware that solicitors dont always act in the clients best interests, if you are unsure of anything come on here.

If it DOES come to that - and hopefully it won't- make sure every but of "evidence" or statement is read. One mistake we made was not reading statements by arresting officers as the solicitor said we didn't need to- it was just formality.
However at trial, when the officer was giving evidence, it didn't tie in with what the complainants had said as regards to the day these things took place.
Had we known before trial, it's something we would have argued against.
As I was co- accused at that time, I couldn't speak to his defence so didn't alert them Once they did know, sol and QC were dismissive. Thing is if you're accusers say these things happened on the friday night and they got someone to phone the cops, but then they weren't contacted until the saturdayI think that's quite significant
They tried to bury us- they didn't know we were seeds

                          hi

Thanks for this. I was so naive and gullible, I always put the police on a pedestal before as my job can sometimes involve them. I never new the pigs were so corrupt in this country, and they really do have it in for some people. They already made their mind up for my OH, when I got interviewed the second time round, I said to them " may I ask why have you already made your mind up on this case, it is guilty before proven innocent", they didn't like that and replied " why are you asking this", I replied the sol already put this point across, then they answered " ur OH is a good man and I don't want to send an innocent man with young babies down" but The DI when I spoke to him was really arsy and horrible,

I am really struggling to stay focused and strong, sometimes I just cry and cry, ask why me.... My mum told me stay away from them they are evil, my step brother said stay away from her mum as she is evil, I blame myself totally for opening my door to a 11 year old that needed help from her horrible family. She was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off I see that now. Even her own father said he wouldn't be surprised if something was going on between her and her step father, I told him go to the police. I think about all I did to help him with his cocaine habit, and him turning up to my house 3 am plus waking the new babies etc. will he help now - no. It has taught me out your family first, well blood family. I hate them all now.

Thank you for telling me to write everything down, I have started now, and a timeline, and retracing steps, plus going over the statements given to the police. We are waiting for cps x

Hi and sorry to hear you are in this predicament. It is a frightening experience. I was petrified. I hadn't done anything wrong but was scared about whether my home would be searched or if I would be arrested. Even though my case got NFA'd, it took 16 months which was like torture while waiting. The situation still haunts me now. False allegations can have a very serious and deep impact on your life which is long lasting. It's certainly changed my perception about the Police and criminal justice system. I left my job which was in youth justice because I could no longer work in the criminal justice system after the way the Police dealt with me. They didn't investigate my case impartially despite the fact I gave them evidence which undermined the allegation and pointed towards my accuser having a pattern of behaviour related to making false allegations.

Basically they are supposed to look at the evidence (or lack of!) that the police investigation has produced and determine if there is a better than evens, i.e. 51% chance, of getting a guilty verdict if this is put in front of a notational jury and only proceed to trial with the case if this is so.

The cynical might say that in this formula there is no mention of perceived guilt or innocence and it does seem to be the current reality that the CPS are sending many more borderline cases to trial then they used to do, probably on the basis that they would prefer the jury to decide on innocence or guilt rather than themselves.

The problem is that as they are getting so many SO cases, the 'easy' ones, i.e. where there is definite proof, get dealt with first and the others, i.e. FA's, get pushed to the back of the box.
