Could anybody provide some guidance on the abbreviations that are used across these forums and within the justice system also. A lot of the time abbreviations can be navigated or alternated given the context of the sentence however it would be useful to expand the knowledge of terminology and abbreviations that are regularly used.

    A few examples;

    NFA
    DP
    OIC
    OH
    FA

    Thank you in advance.

      Hi,

NFA means no further action taken by the police. This is when the police decide to end the investigations without any charge.

      f.A is false accuser )

O.H) I'm not sure what that stands for. I always thought it was it innocent husband) but it's an I so I don't know.

Dp) I'm not sure what that stands for! Sorry lol

O.I.C) I don't know what that stands for.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Other members will know

        OH is own husband
DP is darling or dear partner and DH is darling or dear husband
OIC is officer in charge of case
        As already said
FA is false accuser or false accusation
        NFA No further action
        NC No crime
        NG Not guilty

And finally my favourite the dancing bananas are after a NG verdict or the CPS taking no further action. I hope you get dancing bananas soon!

Don't worry about it! We all have different meanings for different things.

I noticed you said DP and assumed you meant your partner. What's the "D" for? Darling or dearest?

We also abbreviate our usernames, so I am known as RF. Narrow Door would become ND......
