  • Sentencing Guidlines

I know that I shouldn't be dwelling on this, but there are times where I always think of worse case scinario as it mentally prepares me, but also scares me to keep being positive.

However, I have been looking at sentencing guidlines and while I understand that all cases are different etc etc but does anyone know what applies? Would someone that committed an offence at the age of 12/13 be sentenced as such even if 14 years have passed and they are now 26/27. Understand that a 26 year old would not be sent to a juvenile detention unit, so I assume that this would then be custodial. I'm hoping this question will help others who maybe have not got the courage yet to ask.

    Thanks

This link may be of relevance depending on the actual date of the alleged offence:

      Hi Case Hardend,

Thanks for sending this through. As posted before I don't think that this would apply. My question was more a general one. I've read this article (http://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/...ximum_web1.pdf), hence my questions. Would these guidlines apply to someone who was of that age quite a few years ago. The Law is a crazy world and can be interpriated so differently.

      Thanks
