Well after a wait of just over 3 months and hearing absolutely nothing from the police, the OIC rang me at half past 3 yesterday.

She said the CPS had reviewed the case file and they would be taking NO FURTHER ACTION !! I had to ask her to repeat it a couple of times. The relief was unbelieveable.

I had stayed away from the forum for quite a while because it was quite depressing reading so many stories of other people being falsely accused.

A heartfelt thankyou goes out to everyone on here who offered support and advice. Its great knowing that there are other people who know what we are going through.

Its a horrible position to be in and i feel that something needs to be done to protect people like us who have to go through this ordeal for months.

      Once again, thankyou.

That's great!! You must be very relieved, for me it has been a huge relief as well and such stories give hope to others who are sadly still in limbo

My story started mid December when i got home to a card behind the door asking for my help in an investigation. I rang the number the next day thinking it was something and nothing. (I had called the 101 number a couple of weeks previous as i saw some kids messing about on a school roof late evening)

The OIC was unavailable and i left my number for her to contact me. The OIC called me back 3 weeks later and at first was reluctant to tell me what it was regarding. Eventually she admitted i was being investigated for a historic sexual assualt. Stunned would be an understatment.

I explained that it would be another week before i could come in because of work commitments.

I thought this a little strange that they would be ok to wait four weeks from initially putting the card through the door. Surely if it was serious they would want to see me quicker (or is that just my naivety ?)

An allegation was made against me. It was one allegation in 2002, 2003 or 2004. The complainant couldnt remember which year, but seemed to remember in great detail what i had done. For two of these years i wasnt living in the area.

There are a some other unusual twists to the story that i cant mention because it may make it obvious.

That was five weeks ago and i have heard absolutely nothing. I have spoke to the GP and councellors but other then that i am in bits. I dont sleep or eat and my work is suffering.

I cant believe that someone would do this. Its a terrible thing to have to deal with. Life has been good these last few months. I finally got the job of my dreams, i was going to buy my house and i have a met a great girl and now all the good things just seem to pale in comparison.

                    Thanks for listening / reading

Not sure what im looking for but maybe putting it down in writing may make me feel a little better.
Just remember that you're not alone. Many of us (me included) are suffering under the cloud of false accusations.
