  • legal aid has separated us

Those of you who have seen my posts will see the situation we are in. In short - his ex has accused him of having a thing with her underage sister. Postal summons to answer charges end of month.

To qualify for legal aid he has had to move back to his parents otherwise because we live together he has to declare my income and my house which is in my name not his. So, basically I would have to get the money from my home to pay to defend him against her lies.

we're feeling the strain but getting there its lonely and totally unfair. I can't wait till the courts realise this is all a way of stopping him being with his children.

Our solicitor has advised he shouldn't attend anymore hospital appointments with her and the kids until further notice in case she accuses him of anything else yet the family court want to see him being there for his kids that they can both act like parents ect. It's a mess.

Ask the criminal sol if it would be a good idea to attend with an independent 'chaperone' in relation to medical appointments etc, otherwise he will lose out at family court.

We did ask the sol but he was the one that said it wasn't a good idea not until some bail conditions are put on him in the magistrates end of the month.

Where do we find an independent chaperone? How much will that cost?

A chaperone can be anybody who is not involved with any potential trial proceedings - so no costs involved.

OK wait for the bail conditions and then maybe he can work around them. However if they are that he is to have no contact then so be it. Family court will know why he has not had any contact if that is the case. The end of the month is only a few days.....
