Is it the same trial sol and barrister?

If it is, did he not meet them before the initial trial was adjourned? If not, you could ask for a meeting. Believe it or not 6 weeks is ample time to get the case together. Often the wheels start to turn very quickly in the last week prior to trial.

      Hi RF

No its a new solicitor and barrister, totally different firm as the last ones we felt were not very good, the new ones were recommended by a friend.

Hopefully the legal aid will be sorted this week and we can crack on, witnesses are staying to ask if they will be required as they have not been written to, we are telling them yes and giving them the trial date to make sure that they will be available

Get your witnesses to write statements (not essays but in short bullet points) with dates if possible, if not then "around the time of....."

If they are material witnesses they have to be clear what it is they want to say and how it would disprove the allegations. Saying "what a jolly nice chap he is" is not material evidence. That's for character.
