After living a nightmare with a family member who has been falsely accused of rape, it's time someone did something about this. There are too many occasions where people can just shout the word 'rape' and then years of someones life is just stolen, they're put through hell and there is no repercussion on the accuser. It's unfair.
We're nearing the end of our trial and it's not looking great right now. This really has been the hardest experience we have ever been through with no guidance from anyone. We have been so lucky with our barrister but not everyone may be as lucky.
The lack of support on the internet is unbearable. Spending hours and hours trawling sights to get answers. This forum is and has been so incredible, but it's time something changes.
I want to be the voice of those who up until now, haven't had one. It's time we start making a noise and campaigning for those so wrongfully accused of such a hideous crime!
If you're with me, if you'd join the campaign, let me know. Get in touch and together we can all begin to stop this happening to so many innocent men!!

For the avoidance of doubt the effect of FA's also hits wives, girlfriends & the broader family. So there is a panoply of affected parties (gender neutral) even if the allegation is applied to males...

What did you have in mind? Please elaborate here...

No attempt being contentious or precious. Just curious...

You're right, gender neutral, I'm just talking from our experience that it's been a man falsely accused and a lot of scenarios in the media etc, it's the men being accused.

My aim is to spread awareness, make more people aware of whats happening. Don't just pity the accuser, it's not always as black and white as that. The more we talk about this, the more we spread the news and awareness, the more people we can help. Help for this kind of thing comes very few and far between. It needs to be more accessible to people who are about to head into a period of hell in their life!

Also the judicial system needs to change. The entire system is so flawed and deficient it's almost a joke. I have never known a system to be so unorganised, unfair and just completely unhelpful. But this is an even bigger matter.

Any suggestions would also be greatly received.

      Thanks

I've been working in FAs since 2002. I became aware of them happening in 2000 when a friend of mine was convicted, and released on appeal in 2001

There are petitions being set up every other day about false allegations: compensation; anonymity; lack of full and proper and impartial investigations etc etc etc

We've had Parliamentary all-party select committees for false allegations for a few years. I think they disbanded when the chair-lady Claire Curtis-Thomas stepped down as an MP.

Dozens of solicitors and barristers have given evidence in various inquiries and Hansard (question in the House of Commons).

Television presenter and ex school teacher Simon Warr has been on radio more times than off, in recent times after being found NG.

We've had conferences and marches in London and other cities. We used to have vigils outside various prisons at Christmas.

Chris Saltrese and other solicitors have spoken in radio programmes about the issues facing those falsely accused of sexual abuse.

So far the authorities aren't interested because basically miscarriages of justice and the issue of false allegations is not "popular". Believe me though, we've been trying to get our voices heard for decades. David Cameron (before he became PM) had promised to ensure anonymity for all those accused of sexual offences. We all know how that promise went once elected.
