First of all sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I know people would rather not be on here. But I hope I can cast a glimmer of hope to some of the other stories on here. To cut a long story short a false allegation of rape was made against me earlier this year. The claims made by the complainant were very far fetched – we did have sex – but they said violence was involved. After a short investigation (two weeks) I was released without charge. This was a while ago now and since I have been good but have been more careful going out with people etc.

I was arrested but no charges came to fruition so applied a couple of months ago to get the arrest, biometric information and DNA data deleted from the PNC citing ‘No Crime’ and ‘Malicious/False Allegation’. I applied through ACRO and had received correspondence that they will retain my data. Now I thought this would be the case and it's not knocked my confidence, but I was wondering what else I can do? Is there an ombudsman or could I write to my MP. Or just take it on the chin that it will be on there for a while?

Any advice appreciated
