    Good

I realise there will be differing opinions but I personally think this is the correct conclusion eg NG
Presumably the new evidence in terms of the words she used with other sexual "partners" reflected words she said to him (which were part of his original interview notes...). Although I can only presume this

But clearly the jury have declared their view / decision

I just hope he and his family can put this all behind them ....

Well done to Ched and his people

It's not that long ago when I was facing allegations and I can remember the massive feeling of relief when it was finally over.

So while I don't know Ched I wish him well, life will still be difficult because many who were not in court will believe what they want, rather than the truth.
But Ched if you ever read this there are more people on your side than you may feel!

What I do know from this case is that there were huge question marks over the evidence in the initial trial - even without the new evidence.

The question of if previous sexual history can be used as evidence is difficult - in my case I found out much later that my accuser had reported 2 previous false rapes and that both were inadmissible as evidence.
My accuser was not charged with anything after the first two false allegations, nor in my case. So next time an accusation is made the real evidence will still be inadmissible.

So also in Ched's case there is not even the slightest hint of the possibility that the person that falsely accused him and took away several years of his life will be held accountable in any way.
It does not appear to be even a consideration - the Court has ruled that Ched is not a rapist and does not lie; therefore someone else must have perverted the course of justice and wasted police time.

A rape allegation is for life not just for christmas

I'm glad he's been finally cleared. It took a long time coming but still won't make up for everything him and his family have been through.

I don't understand the big deal about using previous sexual history as evidence. Surely if someone has previously made false allegations, this should be considered in line with other evidence to provide a complete whole picture of the accuser. It seems our legal system is purely geared up to providing claimants with all the rights in the world but if you're being accused and under scrutiny then you have very few rights.

We all know from personal experience that not all allegations are truth and some are completely made up. I'm all for prosecuting people who do carry out these terrible crimes but there needs to be a fairer and more balanced system to protect people from false allegations.
