  • Husband wrongly convicted

Hi I am new to this site so not sure how it works.

My husband of 32 years has been wrongly convicted of a crime that did not happen. There was no evidence. I know this as I was there. Nobody was interested in interviewing me.

Life doesn't get much worse. The more I get involved and dig, the more people I find in the same position as me. This justice system can't possibly be fit for purpose when it allows guilty verdicts on crimes that did not happen!!!

What happened to our justice system. Why does the establishment want to convict decent honest family people. People who have worked hard, paid their taxes, cared for their children & grandchildren. I don't understand.

I also don't understand why no one in the legal industry is doing anything, they have all earned their pay out of the law and yet it seems they will allow innocent ppl to sit in cells. I don't understand!!! But I know it's not right and these mistakes need to be corrected. So many families in trauma. In pain, suffering. Where is the justice? This is Injustice. These wrongly convicted people are now VICTIMS.

The system is creating VICTIMS it is creating a problem for the future. The children and grandchildren of these people have had their youth stolen. No memories with dad or grandad. Why is this country doing this? It is state abuse. Laws are their to protect us, yet the police and CPS and judiciary are using them to destroy us.

    I want to know WHY???

Hi babes - we know each other, I'm thinking!

Can you write in short paragraphs please as I can't read large blocks of text.

I am on my 2nd reading the the paperwork now! Once I have read it three times I'll start to make my "report".

For the "justice system" i have to say it is really disappointing. We should create a platform for us and our affected to arrive of worldwide eyes.

Hello Elsie. What an awful position you are in. My man is stil waiting to find out if he is going to be charged or not, and like you we are older and cannot get to grips with the idea that our lives are being ruined and those of our children and grandchildren changed out of all recognition based on the most unbelievable lies.

The legal system is not fit for purpose and is crumbling under the weight of people jumping on the bandwagon with no accountability. It's criminal, and as you say, it's incredible that the people who work in the system are allowing it to happen.

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is serving a sentence for a crime that did not happen. No-one in authority wants to believe that it's even a possibility that people lie about sex crimes. I don't know what planet they live on.

I'm glad you've found this formum though and hope you find it helpful and supportive. I certainly have.

PS The forum works by having lots of useful information relating to getting good legal advice and what happens as the wheels if the law grind slowly from accusation through to surrendering to bail and court dates and so on. Members support one another through trials and appeals processes too with emotional support. Perhaps you would like to start your own thread, telling us a little of your story - no identifying details as it's an open forum - but you'll find friends here with similar experiences. You need support for yourself, especially if you're on your own and away from family while your husband is away. It's a pity you didn't find this site sooner, but better late than never!

Unfortunately, there appears to be lots of people who are being wrongly accused and convicted of offences they did not commit. It is outrageous and not justice at all. The problem stems from the way the system works. When an allegation is made, the Police seem to automatically believe complainants who come forward and little if anything is done to look at the other side of the story. The Police work on the basis of collecting evidence to prove the allegation and discount anything which undermines the allegation and many forces are keen to just get a conviction because it looks like they've done s good job. Many cases seem to reach court on the flimsiest of evidence and without any medical evidence or witnesses and based solely on one persons lies - historical allegations are difficult to defend against because of the passage of time and it's very expensive to hire a specialist legal team. Complainants are very often believed if they put across a semi convincing story despite inconsistencies and other undermining evidence because jury's think why would someone be prepared to go through the ordeal of a court case. We all know that many people who make false allegations are motivated either by compensation, some kind of dispute or grudge. In sexual offence cases, we seem to be moving towards a system whereby people have to prove their innocence rather than there has to be sufficient evidence to convict.

He'll Elsie, I read your letter on Inside Times -

              https://doc-0g-9c-docs.googleusercon...ZFE?e=download

I've added a link for anyone else who wants to read it. I hope it works; it seems rather long. If anyone needs to search for it, it's the April 2016 issue of Inside Times and it's on page 26.

It's excellent, Elsie. Did you get any response from David Cameron?
