I spoke to my solicitor on Tuesday and have some updates. I won't know more till after the hearing later this month.

So far we can determine that the FA never made an official complaint to the police. So far we think that the charge has come from my initial report and the statement of one of her flat mates.

I don't know at the minute if this is the full story or if there is more to this. So far my solicitor is fairly confident of a NG verdict if the case goes the distance.

    What do you mean -

So far we think that the charge has come from my initial report and the statement of one of her flat mates.
You didn't approach the police first, after you heard she was going to make allegations did you?

      Yes RF he did.
In his original post he said he was faced with an angry mob at uni so handed himself in.

Imscared- hopefully your solicitor is right.
Keep going and hang on to the truth.

It would help if people stuck to their main thread so that those of us who haven't read the backstory (or have read it but forgotten it) will know what it is about.

Reporting allegations to the police is part of the problem. I've heard of people doing that and then wondering why they've been investigated.

Hopefully the solicitor he has is good, rather than just positive.

          Sorry about the confusion

Hi sorry for the mix up,

          Here's the original post http://www.daftmoo.org.uk/mooforum/s...ello-from-hell

I can only go by the information I have available, but my solicitor is confident of a NG vedict as is the investigating officer. (He took me to one side and told me privately on the day I was charged.) I was naive when I reported the matter but what's done is done. All I can do is work with my solicitor to get the best possible chance of a not guilty verdict.

Thanks for the link to the original story. Maybe stick to updating that thread so people have an idea of what the case is about.

Yes, you are where you are now. However, I recently had a conversation with somebody in one of the Facebook groups who could not understand the dangers of approaching the police themselves, prior to the complainant doing so. He refused to believe that the police would then take up an investigation.

Members need to be aware that this is not necessarily the right way to go which is why I posted as I did, for the benefit of others who are reading the thread. Apologies if you thought I was having a pop at you.
