  • Social services and NFA Question.

Hi everyone, hope you're all well as can be expected? Just a quick question,I'm just wondering if anyone knows what happens with social services after a NFA?

At the moment pre charge bail says no unsupervised contact with under 18,s. So hubby can't sleep here as my child is under 18.

I had a visit from social worker back in Sept who said even if it's NFA doesn't mean he didn't do it!!!
Would a NFA mean that the social services would consider him a risk to my child anyway?

I have been denied all contact/access to my Children from the day I was Falsely accused......

Social services have constantly told me I am not to have any contact/access with my Children whatsoever........

When I asked what if I was NFAD.......

Social Services said..........we are then legally entitled to carry out our own findings/information......And just because you are NFAD does not mean you can see your children.........

This is exactly what I was told word for word......utter TOSH!!!!!

Social services....have said that I am high risk.........even though..... No charge......no conviction....... No previous...

So the answer to your question...based on my experience and correspondence with SS..... yes they are probably still likely to see him as a risk....even after a NFA

Hi guys, hope everyone is as well as can be expected!

I am only allowed supervised access with my kids.
I must admit, i think we got a very fair social worker!!!
She never once questioned my wife or kids (in ways others have mentioned!) and even gave us advice and has spoken to the OIC to see where the case was up to!

She said to us that if i get nfa result, they will not be involved in anyway at all!!

Now i dont know if different police (areas), SS or the individual cases warrent different outcomes of child supervision or further investigation after nfa etc???

I guess we all just have to deal with the hand we are dealt right!??

All the best anyway guys and keep posting : )

Why cant your hubby stay with you if he is supervised ie you are there at the same time?

Its a pretty obvious thing to state really, like most cases inc murder, fraud etc just because somebody gets nfa or not guilty, it doesnt always tell the full picture!
Just as someone who gets a guilty verdict, doesnt always mean they are guilty!

Thanks for all your replies. Police say no unsupervised,in theory while I'm asleep he could get up and approach my daughter. ( a bomb couldn't wake him once his head hits the pillow!!)

They've already put her as a child in need, but have only visited once since the original date of arrest.

One social worker says she's not at risk because she's older and could tell someone if anything happened.

I don't know how we,'ll cope if it gets to a charge, trying to not think about it!!

I would maybe look in to this, as this is what i have and i am still at home (the police and ss are aware of this!)
Again though as i said earlier, maybe different cases, different police/SS areas work it different?

I would also suggest if he wasnt allowed to stay at home, the police would of made this clear in the bail conditions?
Again im not 100% on this but i would definitely check
            Good luck anyway

Our SS conditions specifically said that it was in line with police bail conditions and that whilst they were in force there was to be no unsupervised contact. My OH didn't have to leave the house but wasn't allowed to stay there alone with the children.
In our case SS shut the case several weeks before NFA, but allowed the restrictions to stay in place until police had made a decision.
Hopefully you will get NFA soon and then you can check with the social worker on the case, and restrictions should be lifted straight away.
              Best of luck

Yes this is exactly the conditions we are under!
And the Social worker said if and when i get a nfa, they wont need to be involved with us!
Our case as actually been closed by the Social Servies after they visisted us (albeit still got to keep to the bail conditions of no unsupervised access!!)

don't worry too much, my sw said exact same thing but when it came close to bail date i asked if it was good news how soon could he be home before christmas (bail date was 8th december) and she looked at her diary and said she was working for the two weeks after bail date so.... yes, if it is good news he can definitely be home in time for christmas) - unfourtanatly hubby was rebailed - although i would like to mention, hubby is only allowed supervised access twice a week with myself and someone else (because i'm standing up for him it can't be just me and the age that the accusers said the whatsamejigs happened is the same age as our eldest of 3 (6 years old) so obviously they took it seriously (and how horrendus they made the allegations sound) h xxx

-Hubby was accused - arrested in June 2015 - re-bailed December 2015 - NFA'd March 31st 2016 - SS allowed him back home to our family April 2016-

Thanks hello88. Just playing the waiting game again, hubby answering bail in 2 weeks, social services have said they'll close the case asap. Which could mean within hours or months.

Just hope it's NFA soon, this is the shortest bail we've had so fingers crossed!!

With us, SS were very clear that a NG may not mean NG.

I asked them if a 'G' verdict could also mean the accused could be 'NG'? Unsurprisingly, I received no reply.

SS were still involved with us until after the NG but they withdrew quite quickly because they had done their risk assessment of my partner. We had always been cooperative throughout.

It seems that restrictions vary across the country.

From start to finish, he never had any bail conditions set by the police (apart from not contacting the accuser)

However, SS have to make their own investigations and can make restrictions which they believe are reasonable. They do not seem to consider anything other than an individual has made an allegations and it is treated as tho it must be true.

They commented to us that someone would not go to such lengths if it wasn't true!!

SS can be very disconnected with reality...
Realised this today... fully trained ss know it all says: to have a calendar and stick stars on the days that are 'daddy days' so they can look and countdown and get in a routine

reality: go in the kitchen to realise the children have drawn stars on EVERY day on the calender and then got extremly upset when i said that it doesn't mean every day is a daddy day.... took 40min and promises of sweets and chocolate to calm them down....

back to ss: "got any other plans" them: "ummm" no- clearly your books don't cover real life children

sorry very small example and of track but hey ho lol
