Useful Computer Information
Since I enjoy doing stuff with modern computers as well, and because the emulator will be running on a modern computer, and will need files downloading from the internet, this is a page of stuff that I have learnt/found while surfing that I wish to share.
Again, this is aimed at people who do not have a lot of computer knowledge already. Sorry to those who find it too simple.
Internet Browsers
Just in case anyone doesn't know, a browser is the program you use to look at web pages on the computer. All computers that run windows will also have a copy of Internet Explorer. Therefore this is the browser that most people are familiar with. That, however, doesn't mean that it is the only browser, or that it is the best one to have. The two other browsers that are generally available and free are Opera and Firefox.But why use another browser?
- Because IE is the least secure browser
- Because it still allows pop-ups and they are the most annoying thing when browsing
- Because other browsers have more interesting features like tabbed browsing, pop-up blockers and mouse gestures.
